What is career coaching?
Career coaching can help you to take control of your career, make clearer career decisions and set realistic and achievable goals. The clients I work with often feel unfulfilled, stuck at a crossroads or unsure of which direction to take next. No matter what stage you’re at in your career, whether you are looking for a big or small change, career coaching can help.
I use a four stage coaching programme which combines one-to-one coaching techniques with at home self-discovery questionnaires. This combination provides the dedicated time and structure for clients to explore their current verses future career aspirations and set realistic and achievable actions.
Who is career coaching for?
I have worked with people from all sorts of professional backgrounds, some in full time employment, some taking a career break and some working freelance. If you are looking to make a change, however small, or if you are feeling stuck in your career and unsure how to progress, coaching can help.
Will it work?
I know from working with previous clients how powerful career coaching sessions are, and I’m here to support you. But, I can’t do the work for you. If you feel strongly that now is the time to make a change, then that motivation will spur you on to do the work that’s needed to make it happen and see the results you want.
What if I don’t know exactly what I want to do yet career wise?
Career coaching can help you to explore your future career possibilities. Lots of my clients don’t yet know exactly what their next steps will be.
During our career coaching sessions, we can work together to discover what your unique values, strengths and sense of purpose are, address the fears which might have been holding you back, then move on to design your goals around that and create a personalised action plan.
How much time does career coaching take take?
My career coaching sessions are approx. 60 minutes long and we’ll usually work together on a fortnightly or weekly basis for x4 sessions. You’ll receive some home exercises after each session containing thought provoking questions, so you will need to set aside some time between sessions to complete these.
How much does the coaching programme cost?
I pride myself on offering affordable career coaching support with a transparent pricing structure. Having spent my maternity leave considering a change of direction, I know that professional coaching and career advice can be prohibitively expensive. That’s why my full career coaching programme is competitively priced at just £300, which consists of 4 x 60 minute coaching sessions at £75 each.
What if I don’t have the money right now?
That is a completely understandable concern, and one to think about carefully. Investing in yourself and your future can be daunting. What I would say is, think about what your life will look like in 6 months if you don’t invest in yourself now. Or in a year. Or in 5 years. Will anything have changed? Or will you be stuck in the same place? The value of career coaching doesn’t just last for the duration of the sessions; you’ll experience the benefits for months and years to come. But making a change does require dedication. If you’re not ready to take the leap right now, then that’s totally fine.
What if I can’t make one of our scheduled sessions?
When we first get started, we’ll agree a mutually convenient time slot for our sessions. However, if something comes up and you can’t make it, I ask that you give me 24 hrs notice and we can always move the session. Do consider scheduling our regular sessions into your diary and prioritising them, just like you would for a gym session or an evening class. After all, you deserve to prioritise your career!
